Andrew E. Mathis was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and, with the exception of an eight-year sojourn in New York, has always lived there. He entered the publishing industry as a graduate student, joining the startup team of NJ.com before working for several years in STM publishing, including stints in the fields of engineering, risk management, and medicine. After completing his Ph.D. in 2000, Andrew taught at Villanova, Temple, the University of the Sciences, and several other colleges. He has also taught and published in the field of Holocaust historiography and has served as a board member of the Holocaust History Project.
