Carol Fritzsche was born and raised in Illinois, but has lived in Virginia, Washington State, and China.
She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English Literature and is certified to teach
grades 6-12. While she has used her teaching degree rarely in the academic setting, she has over 15
years of experience in writing and training in the business world. In addition, she spent two years in
China, teaching English at Peking University’s School of Software and Microelectronics (SSM), where her
students earned master’s degrees in a variety of technology-based fields.
During her time in China, she often edited teaching documents for the SSM, as well as the textbook that
was used during her tenure there. She also edited and recorded an English magazine geared to helping
Chinese school children improve their reading and listening skills.
Carol is an avid reader, often indulging in her favorite books long into the night hours. Her favorite
genre is mystery, although there was a time in her life when romance novels were at the top of the list.
Her goal is to, one day, write a book about her experiences in China.
