Lauren Lewis was born and raised in a rural area outside of Cleveland, Ohio. She worked as a teaching and writing assistant while attending Hiram College for
her undergraduate degree. An essay that she wrote while attending Hiram was recently published in the book Hiram, U.S.A: Essays from the Hill. Lauren began
her professional career as the associate editor of Engineer's Digest, a monthly trade magazine. She later worked as a technical writer, and she currently works
as a corporate instructional designer. In this capacity, her primary responsibilities include managing projects, writing course content, developing activities
and tests, and evaluating training results.
Lauren lives with her husband, daughter, and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys reading creative non-fiction, trying out new slow cooker recipes,
and playing video games in the music genre (such as Guitar Hero).
