Polly Meloy was raised in Ohio. She has lived in Maine and currently resides in Pennsylvania. Ms. Meloy has been an avid reader all her life. She holds a bachelor’s degree
in English and a master’s degree in library science. Ms. Meloy has been employed by Kent State University and the University of Maine as a grant writer, editorial
specialist, associate vice president’s assistant, and development professional. As a grant writer, her writing assistance helped to acquire more than $2 million for
various university departments. In each position, colleagues would seek out her research and editing assistance. While living in Maine, Ms. Meloy took coursework in
Teaching English as a Second Language, was a volunteer ESL tutor, and served as a volunteer editor for a local Friends board. She is passionate about language and learning.
In her spare time, Ms. Meloy enjoys hiking, camping, making jewelry, reading, spending time with her daughter, traveling, and experiencing other cultures.
