Margery Guest was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, back when cars were king. Although she now lives in a large city west of Detroit, she still has a soft spot in her heart for Mo-town.
Like many writers, she’s worked several jobs, all related to communications in one way or another. She’s been an account executive for an advertising agency, a publicity manager for an independent bookstore, a project manager for a large corporation, and a writer for a small marketing firm. She’s edited everything, from press releases and brochures to full-length books. For the past seven years, she’s been teaching writing and literature at the college level while continuing to write and publish her own work.
Guest has written freelance for many publications—local, regional, and national. Her work has been published in the Detroit Free Press Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, Travel + Leisure, the Reader’s Digest, and other magazines and newspapers. Her special areas of interest and knowledge are books and literature, nature and horticulture, Mexico, and the Great Lakes.
