SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--September 28, 2010--Proof Reading, LLC, an industry leader in business document editing and proofreading, has named Rebekah Sherman, a junior at Ashland University in Ohio, as its 2010 scholarship winner. The $1,500 annual Proof Reading, LLC Scholarship Program was established to help deserving graduates further their college educations and reach their goals.
"Helping young people continue their education and fulfill their dreams for the future is an investment in our community," says Darren Shafae, founder and vice president of Proof Reading, LLC "We take great pride in our scholarship program, knowing that we are encouraging these students to achieve their college goals and giving them a boost on their path to success."
Sherman, who has made the Dean's List every semester and has maintained an overall GPA of 3.87, is currently pursuing a double major in history and political science. In addition to her academic studies, Sherman was a campus dormitory Resident Advisor this past year and plans to serve as a political volunteer following her junior year through a program offered by the university.
Sherman's post-graduate plans include conducting research for nonprofit political organizations, with emphasis on studying voting patterns in order to help local candidates. In addition, she wants to devote some time to writing for publication, and has a strong interest in authoring history stories for young children—a niche she feels is overlooked.
